St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution Center for Educational Training "ShVSM Athletics" created on the basis of order of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council of People's Deputies dated January 15, 1991 No. 4.
     Name of the Institution when created: School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council.
The regulations on the School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council were approved by order of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council dated January 15, 1991 No. 4.
        By order of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg dated May 126, 1997 No. 51, the School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council was renamed into the State Institution of Additional Education "School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics" Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg and its charter was approved, registration of which was made by decision of the Registration Chamber of St. Petersburg dated July 17, 1997 No. 77790.
       By Decree of the Government of St. Petersburg dated December 6, 2010 No. 1597  The State Institution of Additional Education "School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics" of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg was renamed into the St. Petersburg State Institution of Additional Education for Children, specialized children's youth sports school of the Olympic reserve “School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics”, the goals were changed and the subjects of activity were determined.

The St. Petersburg state institution of additional education for children specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve "School of highest sports excellence" was renamed into the St. Petersburg state budgetary institution of additional education of children specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve "School of highest sports excellence in athletics" athletics."
       The new version of the Charter of the Institution was approved by order of the City Property Management Committee dated September 2, 2011 No. 1993-rz.
        By order of the City Property Management Committee dated December 28, 2011 No. 3675-rz, the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution for Additional Education of Children, the specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve "School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics" was renamed the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Educational Institution   ;institution of additional education for children, a specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve "School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics", abbreviated name: St. Petersburg State Budgetary Educational Institution of Children's and Youth Sports School "ShVSM in Athletics".
           By order of the Committee of Property Relations of St. Petersburg dated December 13, 2017 No. 2520-rz, the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Educational Institution for Additional Education of Children, the specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve "School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics" was renamed St. St. Petersburg state budgetary institution Olympic training center "School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics", abbreviated name: St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution Center for Training "ShVSM in Athletics".
          By Decree of the Government of St. Petersburg dated August 14, 2023 No. 849, the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution Olympic Training Center "School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics" (the abbreviated name of the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution Center for Training "ShVSM in Athletics") was renamed to St. St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution of Additional Education sports school of the Olympic reserve “School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics” (short name of St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution DO SSHOR “School of Higher Sports Excellence in Athletics”) 
        The new version of the Charter of the Institution was approved by order of the Committee for Property Relations of St. Petersburg dated November 3, 2023 No. 2837-rz.
